Click the floor to walk. Click a thing to open the verb coin, then pick eye to look at it, hand to use or take it, skull to talk to it.
Right-click a thing to look at it straight away.
The buttons in the bottom corners do the rest: bag for your inventory, disk for a progress code, arrow to restore one, speaker for sound.
